Daniel T Wheeler is a Photographer, Darkroom Practitioner and Educator based in the Midlands.
His practice is rooted in long-term engagement with people, place, and lived experience and often develops through sustained relationships with communities and landscapes, allowing social, historical, and emotional layers to emerge over time. Working intuitively and responsively, he explores how personal and collective memories become entwined with the places we inhabit.

Using analogue photography, darkroom processes, and, more recently, sculpted and worked glass, Daniel is interested in how memory can be translated into physical form. Through slow, tactile making, his work reflects a fascination with the way memories fragment, shift, and settle, offering space for reflection and a deeper understanding of ourselves in relation to place.

He is currently exploring sculptural glass combined with photography and developing new works as a result of his successful Arts Council England Developing Your Creative Practice grant.

He is also the founder of Sequence: Nottingham Centre for Photography and Social Engagement as well as manager of Education and Community at Take It Easy Lab in Leeds.

With decades of experience in mentoring photographers and teaching Daniel also works as a creative consultant, coach and mentor.
